Yeah, but the quests were designed while he was. They aren't going to scrap them all and start over at the last minute.

In EQ1 all the classes have distinct epic quest lines, which IMHO would be preferable. however, I wouldn't mind much if it were one for each class archetype with variations for the two subclasses. I wouldn't like it if there were any less than that, though.

As far as overlap with killing certain mobs goes, I'd imagine there would probably be some. I wouldn't mind, actually. It's much easier to get help on your epic if multiple people can get updates at the same time, especially if it's a mob on a timer or ring event and not in an instanced zone. Hopefully there won't be too many of those.

If you think contesteds are bad, you should see some of the fracases that went on over Ragefire for the cleric epic before he became a triggered spawn in EQ1.
