Default Epic weapon quests: 24 distinct quests, or more like 6?

The following is pure speculation, based on patterns I've seen in this expansion and others. It is presented here to spread the debate about the weapons from the items themselves to the quests to obtain them.

While I don't have the energy to dig it up, I'm fairly positive that there was a statement by at least one dev that the epic weapon quests would be different for each class. That sounds like a lot of work, particularly if you consider that they would be making epic quests for classes that are poorly represented in typical raid guilds (SK, coercer, brawlers).

We see how they handled the patterns for the fabled armor in RoK - each type of pattern has a member of each archetype that uses it. What if they did something similar for the heroic and epic portions of the epic weapon quests? Say that there are a number of quests that make up the series. Each of these quests have six different versions/targets. For the first quest in the series, one subclass from each archetype have the same target/version of that quest, so all 24 subclasses are covered by the six versions. The next quest in the series is built similarly, but the subclasses assigned to particular versions are mixed so that no two are matched up like they were in the first quest. Rinse and repeat for the whole series. They could have each of the subclasses have a unique combination of versions, yet only write six quest series, as it were. In addition they could ensure that each version had some form of fighter, healer and dps who needs to do that version.

I would hope since that week of fires set them back two months that they have had sufficient time to develope individual quest lines. However, you are probably right.

Its really a shame about those fires. There were no epics in beta because they didn't want to give out spoilers. Now those fires came, and selectively burned through pieces of code that was ready for beta, but just didn't want to ruin the surprise for us. It's a good thing too, since we all know Christmas came early this year, and epics would have just been delayed again.

Yea guys its all a big conspiracy. I bet SOE started the fires themselves so they wouldn't have to do any work.

epic quest 1 go to loc A, B, C, and kill mob X,Y,Z in order.
epic quest 2 go to loc C, B, A and kill mob Z,Y,X in order.
epic quest 3 go to loc B, C, A and kill mob Y,X,Z in order.

And so on and so on and presto there are our 24 epic quests.

Edit I hope I am wrong.

you forgot camp U V W 24/7 oh wait no it will be PHs asa valid update aswell

this time we visit a tier2 zone in timorous instead of WC and wait there for 4h instead of for a level 17 mob to update our quest
