well after running around for a few hours came upon my copy...which was way worth it seeing how all the voice paks are outdated on the dvd and the patch took me 9-10 hrs

LOL - seriously is there anyone at Sony that even fucking cares?
I Digital Downloaded it, but I went looking for some here in Western NY on my lunch (cause well I had nothing to fucking do and felt like taking a longer then normal lunch) - and found a grand total of 15 copies in 10 stores...
WOOT - GG sony....(btw Buffalo is normally stocked with games when they come in, due to for some reason this area having a higher then normal gaming population.....personally I blame the weather, politicians, and the gay community**, but that is just me)
** not that there is anything wrong with that....

Wow, LFG, as you already know I'm from the south bay too, I'm just glad I preordered my digital download instead of retail this time around, I wouldn't have wanted to spend my day the way you did...

It's a conspiracy! SoE knew some of you cancelled your pre-orders so they found out which parts of the country you lived in and made sure you didn't get a retail copy and had to suffer through the digital download process while they gained more time to fix bugs!! ;)

I spent the better part of the day driving around looking for a store to purchase one copy of the EoF retail version.
I live in the SF Bay Area, in California. This is a Metropolitan Statistical Area with 9 counties and 10 million consumers.
The two main retailers for electronics and game software in this massive urban sprawl are Best Buy and Fry's Electronics.
I went into Fry's this morning expecting to see pyramids of the product stocked on the floor, as I remember from EQ days. They had entire endcaps for Nightfall/Guildwars, for WoW, for other games, but you know what they had for EQ? A couple copies of EQ2 classic for 9.99, and one copy of the DoF expansion.
Best Buy was no different, although Best Buy had two copies of the KoS expansion, and none of DoF.
I got the clerk at Best Buy to look up EverQuest II Echoes of Faydwer in his computer system. For all Bay Area Best Buys, THEY ORDERED A WHOPPING 41 COPIES, IN TOTAL. Yes, that was for 10 superstores. And none of those copies even made it to the South Bay, which is where I live.
Good God, you could hire a half dozen guys as part time telemarketers who would do a better job selling the product to retailers than this while raiding and taking bong hits.
It is very clear to me why this game has never achieved a fraction of the success of WoW.
And that's because SoE's marketing department is either totally incompetent, is following a strat of trying to hide the product from video game buyers, or both.
Can you believe Sigil hired these people to market Vanguard for them? Do they realize what they've done?

LFG - I'm about an hours outh of you in Monterey Bay and the guys here said they weren't getting it till Friday - FRIDAY!!!! WTH!!! I ordered mine online and got it through EB games - delivered yesterday. But yet the TWO EB Game stores didnt have it here. /shrug Go figure - guess the stores didnt get the memo.
Btw I called around cuz a friend wanted it for his birthday and didnt tell me what he wanted till yesterday /sigh

Here in Knoxville TN I never have a problem picking up the latest game releases. I simply walked into my local EB and purchased the two copies I needed for my accounts.
