Not to divert this thread off topic, but I have given the "actual role players" chances to fit in time and time again with the rest of us, by making the mistake of inviting to groups. Let me just give a small list of things that I have had to endure in groups with RP'ers from various moments:
1. "Could you guys stop talking about real life please? Trying to enjoy my game here."
If I were sitting in the same room as this person I'd smack him with a wok.
2. I just can't take somebody seriously as a gamer who has to say "thou, thee, thine", or any other form of that context EVERY time they are addressing something. That, and it's just freakin' annoying.
3. People who are so absolutely devoted to their RP that you think they took a vow of silence. If I am asking you a question about your abilities before an upcoming named encounter, and you refuse to answer me, or reply to me as if you're freakin' Don Quixote...don't bother asking thou group leader for a re-invite when thou arse has been cast from thy group.
All in all, I always give people a chance before I ever make judgements, but too many bad experiences have forged a "no RP-tag invite" policy in my head.
Ok, sorry...back to the thread.

Re: How would one become an in game guide pc?
Meh i guided for about 3 months on Unrest a few years back, it was booring... Same old shitty quests that nobody showed up for, and the people i were guiding with i think a week before had just reached the 10 lvl mark, i felt like i was playing with retards. Plus there really isnt anything redeeming about it, unless you like standing out in CL for like 2 hours watching people run by and laugh...

Meh.... guiding is not only boring, but some of the rules are just .... too much, IMO. Everything has to be precise, no deviation. Daily reports, mandatory number of sessions per week, etc. Post in X forum, below Y line, using Z format, and Z format alone, or none of it counts.

Re: How would one become an in game guide pc?
Not to mention how 99% of the guides that spam that same RP shit in the official guide forums are of the lovey dovey SOE is amazing give me a gumdrop lollipop princess mentality.
Literally, in the forum etiquette rules for guides if you express any negativity at all. ANY negativity in the guide forums you can get kicked from the program
I basically couldn't post anything or I would have been removing myself. I didn't make it longer than 4 months in the program but hey....at least I didn't pay for ROK like you suckers

Re: How would one become an in game guide pc?
Lol, you make it sound like guiding is the devil itself. If you don't like the guides, do what so many people do and ignore them, no harm done. Some people actually like that there are some that give up their time to have some fun with the players running quests /hugs her orc priest pet that goes so well with her orc illusion
Honestly, it's not like having someone around that's friendly and happy is that bad. Unusual, granted, but they aren't harming anyone. Get over it and let the rest of us have our fun?

Re: How would one become an in game guide pc?
The only reason nobody likes them is because:
1. Guides themselfs either hate it, or are hardcore RP'ers who ejaculate everytime somone goes on one of the quests.
2. The guided quests are booring, they have been the same for as long as i can remember.
3. They hardly ever make an apperance (atleast on a few of the servers i have expierenced)
4. Essentially, the entire guiding program in itself is a wasted investment of time and effort that could be put forth towards other things.

Re: How would one become an in game guide pc?
Best ever example of hardcore RP was when I was playing DDO, and we had this guy on voice chat (built into that game) that had a barry whitish voice, very deep said..just to let you know I roleplay my ranger...
First pull of the instance, he says in a voice trying to sound like a 12 year old girl.."incoming" ..I about fell out of my chair laughing...
