How would one become an in game guide pc?
I know I have seen these in game and on my server before. The question is why not more often? After so long in the game I am actually interested in persuing something like this, but am curious what is entailed to get into the program if it still exists.
I have already used google to search for said materials, but to no avail have I had any luck.
Any info from any players participating in this or possibly a dev with helpful info would be much appreciated. If I could enrich atleast one persons playing experience I would be the better for it.
Thanks.

Actually decided I would slide by the support site which usually never answers the right questions and stumbled on:
https://guide.everquest.com/guideapp/faq.php
thats for future search and referance.

You have reached the 10th level with at least two characters in the program that want to join.

Guides don't really need extensive knowledge of the game, they don't deal with petitions or anything. Mostly what they do now is roleplay stuff, running quests and things. GMs deal with all the technical stuff and customer service.

Eh, it's easy to get in the guide program.
It's just extremely boring since they are not actively putting in new events for guides to host, and the ones that are there are over used.

Do guides serve a purpose other than trying to force you into their retarded RP? They always know how to make a trip to the broker real awkward.

You could always give them the name of that platspammer that's been bugging you from the islands. That usually gets them to leave the zone really fast.

I have to agree. And damn do actual RP'ers erk the hell out of me, so pathetic.
But I admire Kadoer for wanting to be genuinely helpful in-game. I happen to feel strongly about that too, but my way of appraoching that is less of structured, bs-title, and more of a natural way of gaming.
See, you don't have to go out of your way to reach the devs or anybody else to do this. Whenever I make a new alt, or mentor my mid-level ones down to get AA or quest xp from things I've passed up, I almost always run into somebody new to the game by grouping with others in the zone, or getting asked for directions at random. I help people all the time, sometimes to the point where I forget what I was doing there in the first place.
The way I see it, if one person can help another not feel totally lost (and keep them from becoming so frustrated that they give up on the game that quickly), then they have done a positive thing. At the very least, it helps me increase my friend-base in-game, and also is a good tactic for finding prospective guild members (and I'm not even a recruiter for my guild). That, and the fact that I just simply enjoy helping people, especially when it's helping them to enjoy gaming.
But yeah, fuckin' role players man...ugh.

You would tend to encounter RPers in a RPG.
