Default Zoning into... Character Select

Since Frostfell a good 40% or better of my zoning attempts land me at the character select screen.

Over at the Nazi run care-bear forums there is a bunch of threads about this but no answers from staff.

So anyone else having this problem? Its starting to piss me off enough to contemplate /ragequit

I've had that problem since launch. Every computer i've played this game on with my toon, i have crashed to char select numerous times. Sometimes i wouldnt crash for a week then one day i would crash on every zone i would attempt to zone into.

Weird...
The only time I have ever crashed to char select is when sinking sands died back in dof...

Also a few times in MMIS, but that was on purpose due to the loading ui resources bug

It used to happen to me way back. It returned when Frostfell went live. For me it seems to happen only when zoning into Qeynos zones and roughly around 1 in 5 times.

I haven't logged in after frostfell ended so I can't tell if the problem persists for me.

Well I decided to give a fresh install (6 hours of patches FTMFW!!) a chance...

Its still doing it. And I'm getting the good old searching for character on Login Server 1 to 10 now when I try to log in the first time or go back in game from character select at least 60% of the time.

JOY!

Hey, maybe with your fresh install you'll get to take advantage of some of the other new features (Post RoK) like "hanging at the patching screen in the launcher while stuck decompressing a file". I'm very fond of that one.

I suppose you could call their tech support at 1-800-ITSYOURROUTER to try and get them to help, but I wouldn't expect much assistance.
