Re: Cancelling EQ2Players
I cancelled what features I was using a while ago.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the 'Knowledge Book' feature that was "coming soon" from the launch of Echoes of Faydwer until very shortly before Rise of Kunark when it abruptly disappeared. It was supposed to let you have a glimpse at potential applicants' spell qualities, but all we got was a couple of dark fairies holding up a sign. Good job.
Edit: I'd like to clarify, the expanse of time between EoF and RoK was about 12 months. Yes, 12 months of "coming soon" with no payoff.

Re: Cancelling EQ2Players
We went back to our EQ2P guild site the other day, 'cause someone wanted to use it... The only guildie authorized to use it was me, and no way see or add anyone else. Borked, badly borked. Beyond borkness. Borkingly borked.

Re: Cancelling EQ2Players
I strongly believe that SOE needs to consider what's at stake here. Making it so players can completely anonymize their eq2players profile prevents other players from helping to police the system.
I'm especially referring to the recent incident where some players exploited in the Shard of Fear zone and leveled characters from 1 to 80 in just a few days. If those criminals had been smart enough to make their eq2players profiles anonymous, I'm not sure SOE would have ever noticed, and those players would have completely gotten away with what they did. That situation was discovered by other players, not by SOE.

I want this - Magelo - EQ for EQ2. But day by day, year by year support for EQ2 and WoW still in work.

Hell, it was only $2.95, an amount I didn't even care about.
But now SOE has given all players the ability to completely anonymize their profile, and I'd say 90 percent or more of the players I want to look up and check out have their profiles anonymous. These are generally the players I most suspect of cheating and other bad behavior.
So now, I can think of ZERO VALUE associated with an eq2players subscription. I'm therefore finally cancelling mine.

You're right on the money. That's basically what the site is best used for, transparency that keeps us honest to each other. I log in with a friend's account for the for-pay features, it ain't worth shelling out for it.

The only reason I have EQ2Players is because there's no Magelo-EQ2. Speaking of which, my oriqinal EQ char profile on Magelo seems to have disappeared. Did they do a wipe of inactive profiles?

Re: Cancelling EQ2Players
Eqplayers webshite... not only the information isn't accurate, the guild site is completly borked and i doubt any serious guild uses it. What i am afraid of is that SOE will probably require the extra billing to access some neat features from the soon to come(tm) Guild Halls.
