I only quoted this part... but one thing about stats and raids... sure with all the boosts going on your going to reach a cap where that 30 points of Sta wont make a big difference but it will still make a small difference. Ever wished you had 100 hit points more when you had 7000 and the AOE just hit you for 7070? I know I have...

Now lets get back to "nerfing"

Its not the Legendary gear thats broke, its the end game.

1) Cookie cutter encounters and mobs that have a pea for a brain AI that just happen to hit harder to make them "challenging" and even if the AI was better since everything is scripted once you figure it out... its no longer challenging.

Only way to fix this is make all Raid Instances more RANDOM... remember playing Diablo the second or hundredth time around and running into mobs you never fought (or had even seen) before in an area you thought you knew like the back of your hand? Remember thinking Holy Shit! when it happened?

Think about running through raid instance # 120X for the 30th time and all of a sudden the melee mobs you could kill in your sleep are casters and immune to slashing and magic damage. It would keep you on your toes and you for at least that one time through you damn sure wouldn't be bored.

But as we all know thats never going to happen in EQ2 aka Lazy Dev Land.

2) T8 Fabled loot that isn't Fabled at all... it all needs to be boosted and made better. Bring back the WOW and DROOL factor to Fabled loot and it will be worth striving to be that 1% of 1% that it drops for.

But finally we are getting decent loot and equipment for everyone. So instead of the 1%er begrudging Casual Ranger #100,645 his Legendary earring that gives him +5 to ranged crit and screaming OMFG NERF, the 1%er should be happy that CR #100,645 can go do his thing in the game and have fun.

And at the same time Mr. 1% can be content that he can go places and see and kill things CR #100,645 couldn't even imagine. As long as the reward is worth the effort to go there in the first place and its challenging and FUN once you arrive.

Because HAVING FUN is the only reason to play a game.

Nerf Legendary No.

Fix Fabled Yes.

And Treasured should remain what it always has been, 90% vendor trash with a few nice items thrown in to make having a normal chest drop exciting.

And that works real well for the Main Tank

*edit* And it works even better the first time in on a new encounter

*edit2* And its awesome for Raid Zone wide AOE

My example was just that, an example...

If you're MT die dying to an AoE's, you've got more issues than 100 more HP

No AoE's even hit that hard, and if they do, they are easily avoided with AoE avoids.

No shit huh...

Like I said my example was only an example... nothing else.

And stats stack and better stats stack higher

Pointing out a flaw in your arguement.

Like it or not, Legendary is too powerful and is ruining progression on any type of gear. All of my raid force are using over 50% Legendary gear whilst raiding and using the Fabled for "e-peening" stats on EQ2Players or Idling in QH/EFP.

There is no way to "Fix" Fabled items by increasing stats, because of the Diminishing Returns.

your never going to win this, think about the people who are arguing againist you.

NO matter how right you are there is only 1% of guilds clearing VP compared to all those family guilds / so call "hardcore" raiding guilds who still haven't even tryed VP.

Contested Fable > Instence Fable
Instence Fable > then all other loot

Risk vs reward is the way to go. the only instence i can think of were the loot was better then any contested mob was Chel'Drak (before the nerfed the piss out of him).

It wasn't a flaw it was just an example. I could have easily said power that you go OOM two spells later or get two more heals off.

Diminishing returns is also a bullshit mechanic that has no place in a intelligently programmed game but that argument has already been beaten to death and turned into soap.

And stats aside, if the Raid encounters required the type of abilities that only Fabled gear should have... less of your raid force would be wearing Legendary while inside.

So make Raid encounters harder through intelligence (yeah I know) instead of brute force and Fabled better through stats and abilities. And mostly everyone will be happy.

But asking for the gear 99% are using to be nerfed to make the 1% happy is bullshit.

When instead what the 1% players should be asking for is the 1% gear in the 1% encounters to be fixed instead. *edit* And those encounters to be better programmed as well.
