Default T-minus 90 days until I cancel my EQ2 account.

the solution to all of our woes:

1) Re-tune (read: NERF) the treasured and legendary gear that is being consistently worn over epic-dropped loot. I had to make a tough choice the other day when the scout crit boots dropped in Thuuga, no one else on raid was bidding their DKP, and I was wearing Trooper Scale... that shouldn't even be a fucking choice, it's fabled gear. Unless the legendary item in question was the result of a long and challenging heroic quest, I should be happily bagging or transmuting that item and putting on a shiny new Fabled thingamajig. Fabled is supposed to be more desirable BY ITS VERY NATURE. The sub-fabled itemization in RoK is just retardedly done. Procs will virtually always supercede stats, HP, or POW on an item, unless the procs are so small as to actually be balanced and put the player in a position to make a real choice.

2) Re-tune ALL RoK fabled gear to make sense based on this tiered, flag restricted, progression based raid system. This includes redistribution of loot among archetypes across the tiers, re-tuning of the stats and effects to make the items desirable, and a noticable progression between raid tiers 1-5 loot in RoK.

3) Open up class restrictions on some (read: some) of the loot so it's not being consistently sent to the transmute bin. When 15-20% of our server discos in the first weeks of RoK raiding were transmuted, that is horrible. Just horrible. Indescribably horrible. That's partly due to points 1 and 2 listed above, and partly to the fact that loot is so class restricted now that it's almost guaranteed transmuted on some pieces. We should not be transmuting this much loot this early in an expansion, period.

4) Re-vamp all T2+ encounters, specifically VP. (read: MAKE THEM HARDER AND MORE INTERESTING) This is the critical point that I guarantee SoE is going to miss. Whatever % of the playerbase that is regularly seeing this content is devoting a large portion of their EQ2 playtime solely to raiding. This kind of player absolutely hates boring, poorly-designed, easy encounters. We don't want loot pinatas; we want to be engaged and intrigued by the bosses we're fighting. We want to feel the rush of victory. This is the one area where SoE has always and forever lagged behind their primary competitor, Blizzard. If they want to even have a sliver of a chance of enticing a small percentage of WoW raiders to switch to EQ2, they have to enact a massive change in the way they design raid encounters and raid zones. No matter how addicted these hardcore raiders are, we will not continue to spend 4-5 nights a week grinding through this horrible excuse for raid content for much longer. SoE gets a reasonable amount of time to fix this disaster, and then they can expect to see the account cancellations start to build. Veeshan's Peak (with Trakanon being the true "boss") is supposed to be the premiere raid zone of the expansion, and yet somehow nothing feels epic about it. VP itself is an epic wasteland of horrible raid design, and Trakanon is essentially unbeatable. Excuse me while I try to find another excuse to give up 20-30 hours/week of my life for this content?

(Editor's note: In almost 9 years of sticking with the EQ franchise I have never used the "vote with your wallet" rallying cry before. I always thought it was a lot of baseless bitching, a cop-out to actual constructive criticism. RoK itemization and raid zone design is the first thing that has motivated me enough to invoke this most dire of threats. Take that as you will.)

Actualy what they need to do is nerft the fuck out of legendary. I think that between 1-3 legendary dropping from places like CoA and chanse at a master is needed. Not 5 and 6 leg with 2 or 3 masters per run. They should also nerf MC as well as the rare harvest rate.

All of these are valid points except 4.

They shouldn't waste their time revamping bad encounters because you'll get TTR Mayong all over again. An encounter revamped multiple times that still sucks.

Design new encounters, just actually learn something this time from all the fuckups.

You see I agree that fabled need to be better than anything else out there except Mystical. Why Raid if its not?

But all the WAAAAAAAAAAA posts DEMANDING that everything else be nerfed shows how little dicked people like the OP are.

Whiney Nerf Herders have cost my class more grief since release than anyone else so yeah I'm bitter.

SO C U Later OP....

So you'd rather be bitter than see game breaking flaws be addressed?

Legendary and treasured is fine as it is, keeps most of us from chasing the wind doing shit we really don't want to do to gain more maroon-labelled shit we don't really need. There will be no nerfs taking place, tyvm. And if it becomes a bidding war then my 4 accounts and the 4-5 accounts held by each of several non-raiding friends trump the single accounts held by the "1% of the 1%".
