How is the new Xpac?
Looking good? or has the sony EQ2 team just released another un-finished POS?

Re: How is the new Xpac?
I would say it's looking better than KoS, but then again we did just start. So give it a few weeks before we get over the new feeling and decide whether it sucks or not.

Re: How is the new Xpac?
Only been a few days and I can only really comment on the raid content but from what I have seen the raid content is pretty good. Encounters are intresting and different than things we have fought. Difficulty seems a little low as we almost cleared freethinkers in KOS gear and I know it has been cleared already. We tried the horseman yesterday and it seems like a really complex and difficult encounter. So imo the raid content is pretty good.

So far, I'm personally giving it a big thumbs up.
This is not an unqualified "fanboi" endorsement, and I'm NOT saying that everything is perfect. But everything I've seen so far, especially including the raids we've done, make me want to play it more and more.
IMO, without question, this is the best product they've ever released. The content seems mostly all original and fun to me.
All you quitters, WoW players and other EQ2 haters need to level or otherwise legitimately acquire a high level toon and check this out. I personally wouldn't make a Fae, because I wouldn't want to be stuck as a dude with fairy-like wings after I leveled, but you can level other races from start to finish in EoF. It has enough range and content where they could have released it as it's own standalone game seperate from the original release, DoF and KoS.
If you are burned out on the earlier content, I think you should just start a new toon and level it in Faydwer. You'll be able to level it before running out of content there for sure.
I must say it's nice to be able to be speak with pride about playing EQ2 again. I think the people who didn't wait to see if EoF would deliver, and who recently sold their EQ2 toons, will soon regret that and wish they'd waited. At least that's what things look like so far, and I'll sure say differently if my outlook changes.

Maybe I will reactivate Nich and check it out...But I kind of want to wait and see if they fixed the problems that caused me to quit..I guess we shall see

Re: How is the new Xpac?
I was blown away. I can't really speak in terms of high-end raid content, but the lower lvl zones/kelethin/music etc. are simply amazing. I'm loving it so far.
And, yes, I did make a Fae

Re: How is the new Xpac?
If I had an extra character slot I'd make a Fae, but I dunno if my brother wants to keep playing or not. /shrug
But it's awesome. It's my personal favorite of the three, with Desert of Flames being the second (hey, I'm really into that whole Alladin-ish theme stuff) and Kingdom of Sky being the third, of course. (KoS seriously gave me motion sickness, whatever it's called, the clouds moving fast over the floaty islands... ugh... but the Hoo'Luk are adorable!)
The game feels fresh and new again, and the horses are amazing. Did they get a new art team?
Also, the music... wow.
And I am not a SOE fangirl at all.

If raiding is dramatically improved then I might come back, but I'll give it a few weeks rather than go off impressions of a 2 day old release. I heard half the raid instances have been cleared already, doesn't give me much hope.

Yeah, the new content is good.. but there isn't a lot of it. Kinda a mixed blessing, but gives me hope.
