Unfortunately both debit and credit card pre-authorizations affects the available balance/credit limit, one from financial account that the card is registered to, the other from the cards credit limit.
In addition if the credit card clearing house keeps track of the number of online transactions/pre-authorizations made in a specific period of time, which if exceeded can it can trigger a hold on the card for possible fraud.
