You must be joking
$OE working on something to make sure it`s not bugged as fuck is not even sci-fi scenario.

It's called management, that thing where you assign more resources to areas of the project that need the most work and less resources to parts that don't need much work. The reason why people are laughing at the update patch notes is because the management of SOE once again didn't do a very good job at allocating resources.

It's like a mechanic polishing the windshield of a car when the wheels are falling off.

Simply throwing more people at a problem is not good management. Different people have different skill sets, so someone who handles quest scripting is not going to be much use doing item design, let alone something like server programming or art.

Even if people have applicable skills, adding people can cause problems as you now have to coordinate more people making changes, thus increasing the time spent on communication and sorting out version control issues.

While adding more manpower to a project can be beneficial up to a point, adding too much is wasteful and can ultimately hamper development.

Next, you need to remember that the check-in -> testing -> release process for a LU takes place over a couple of months. Likely, the changes we are seeing going live now were checked in weeks ago.

Throwing more people at the problem when the problem is not enough people will solve the problem. That is the problem with EQ2, it is obvious by the way things are prioritized and released. That and their lovely 3-person QA team. So yah, about how throwing more people at the problem won't help, when the problem is there just isn't enough people to go around!

I'm glad I'm not transmuting any VP loot, and instead am keeping it in a bag for rainy days!

How do you know the problem is not enough people? Which departments are under-staffed? Which skill-sets are lacking?
