I would have to throw Onyx or Kraken into this mix. While thier accomplishments are acheived somewhat slower, they are on a PvP server, which makes this almost like 2 different games.

Different game as in they get to use their overpowered PvP sets in instances or? Sure, on contesteds its different, but if anything they just have it easier with instances

Those two guilds , Onyx, and Kraken are exiled guilds with NO PVP pieces, and NO ACCESS to STATUS ITEMS EVEN THE ONES AVAILIBLE ON BLUE SERVER. So gratz on being an idiot.

I frequently used the city vendor status items while raiding in PVE. It does make it a little harder not having them now, especially in AE fights.

As an example in EOF, we regularly used the AE prevention item on PHH. I recall even gating back to get another between attempts. Granted that fight is easier now that we are ten levels higher, but I'm just saying, that is one less advantage we have in raiding on a PVP server.

That damn 20 percent power item off the city vendor was also useful as hell when I raided in T7.

Then what is the difference between these guilds and PVE? Its harder for them to move to the raid zone? Status items are nice sometimes.. but non-essential.

At minimum, everything seems to take a little longer on a PVP server than it did in PVE.

It takes at least twice as long to level up now that the gank groups are in force and the only real feasible way to level up is by solo questing in overland zones. So getting raid ready, and assimilating new members that are leveling up, takes longer and requires a lot more work.

Also, everything needs more coordination. You can't just go hang out outside the raid instance waiting for the raid to start. You need to move the raid at the same time, from one sokokar post to the next. It is very much a hassle compared to a PVE server.

Despite all this, didn't y'all lag behind a PVP server in clearing VP?

Onyx and Kraken aren't in the top 5 world wide (whatever the fuck that means). Fact is the instanced content in RoK sucks, and no one has killed any t8 contesteds world wide. As a result, there realy isn't any differentiation between guilds unless you go back to previous content which is just bullshit anyway. Either way, unless a guild on pvp can somewhat keep up with pve on contested kills, there is no way they should be considered one of the best world wide, and that has not happened yet.

Which goes back to my point earlier, there isn't really any "5 top guilds" anymore, at least not yet in this expansion. You are either a VP clearing guild, or a shitty guild, for the most part.
