No. There's a reason most conventions are in Vegas, Orlando, Dallas, and even Atlanta. Facilities in places like Oklahoma suck and aren't fun. Plane fares to places like St. Louis and Pittsburgh cost twice what they do to the places I named, since they are not on the beaten path.

Trust me, we don't want the FanFaire at a Motel 6.

I think almost every flight in the east makes your go through Atlanta lol.

I originally drove to Mississippi and took the flight to Arizona with my sister. So, my truck was in Hattiesburg, MS. Coming back we went over MS and landed in Atlanta. Mind you, I live in GA. And then we went to MS....I was pissed to say the least.

i live in Orlando... all you whiners who can't handle a little humidity need to stop being so uptight and forcing the FF to be in Vegas every year! Vegas is a slightly better general choice for a few $$ related reasons, but why do we need to have it there every time? BLEH.

the obvious solution is to have it in Orlando, but not during the peak of summer! hell, have it ANYWHERE in the southeast/southwest during a more hospitable month and i'd be happy. the desert oasis of Vegas isn't exactly a relaxing breath of fresh air in June either. not saying that January/February is the optimal vacation season or anything, but it's been in the high 70's and gorgeous for the last month here in Orlando ;)

and who the heck was complaining about crying babies? there's plenty of other stuff to do in Orlando other than hang out at Disney/UStudios. (and some very mature oriented areas related to those two enterprises as well)

Meh. Oklahoma is fun, especially if you're fond of redneck taunting.

I'd much rather go to Vegas though.

[In case you ever go to Oklahoma City... my favorite hotel in OKC is downtown, The Colcord, with a great club in the basement, the XO Lounge. Bricktown is fun and walking distance from downtown, with lots of good places to drink and eat. There are even casinos, like Riverwind just south of OKC.

The best part of fanfaire is the outdoor pool party. It was hot but definitly nothing like it wouldve been in a humid environment. That also takes place at night which helps alittle.

I LIKE NYC AND ATLANTIC CITY FFS. lol. Not to mention - they are tons of things to do. I'd be happy if they even attempted to let people vote for SOMEWHERE within like 400 miles. Boston would be fine too,

How many large conventions and tradeshows are held in those places?

The answer is next to none.

And the reason is cost. When's the last time you stayed in a NYC hotel? The last one I stayed in, I could touch my hands on the sides of both opposite walls at the same time, and the damn thing was still $350 a night.
