FF is a social event. Coincidently there's a lot of PR, Customer Relations, and Press stuff going on. The Devs are more accessible than usual and they really are interested if you don't stalk them and shove your opinions down their throats.

A lot of info comes out to the players, too.

I sincerely doubt a 3 day event that is largely planned by Community and Public Relations puts a major dent in development.

If you don't want to go, STFU and don't go. It's like not wanting to play a particular game, your opinion becomes irrelevant to those involved.
