and honestly it's peoples own fault if they want to gamble with taking time off in the hopes a patch will come out on time or not be buggy as hell when it's released. pushing devs to release it quicker just screws things up worse with more and more buggy content. shit gets boring after 2 months with no content changes but life goes on.

am i defending the PR people at SoE? fuck no! i think theyre a bunch of fucktards for not seeing this coming and not releasing info that the patch would be pushed back again when people were planning on taking time off of work to catch up.

I don't think anybody cares so much about the patch not being released, so much as nobody saying that it won't be released today, until today came around.

Yeah. I dunno how many times people have to say that taking time off was completely fucking irrelevent. The problem was that Sony doesn't communicate, and the sub-problem was that Sony has shitty customer service in general and takes fucking forever to do anything.

This type of thing just amplifies the understaffing problem I think. I know when I worked in an understaffed department, little things (like someone saying the GU will arrive on 2/05) just slip through the cracks while you are trying to complete the shit you want to release. From what I've heard they don't have a community manager at the moment. Grimwell got promoted and doesn't really fuck with community much anymore and Gnobrin is mostly a forum mod who is probably trying to learn the CM shit.

The community team on EQ2 has SUCKED MAJOR ASS since BG and MG left, imo.
