The return of old school flamage brings a tear to my eye.

I can also imagine them getting ripped on by their guildies for the PoS that is RoK raiding so far.

lol, that made me grin. nice one.

oh and to the other guy... who said the devs that play in their free time are all in hardcore raid guilds? people assume that for some reasno, but it's not true. i'm sure there's just as many who are in smaller guilds, either casual raiders or no raiding.

Pfft, if I could, I'd have 10 points in it for the Choker.

Regarding raid mechanics the dev in question is in a hardcore raid guild. Moreso then i would say lock was in Drow. Furthermore i think almost every raid guild parse continously in thier raids. Followed by posted zonewides in either thier parse channel or boards. So even if he is just having fun the evidence is clearly visable for him.

well of course, we post our parses in /raid after each fight too. that doesnt mean that they really mean anything. when DPS is so heavily based around group makeup, you can't just look at a parse "in a vacuum" and say it means something.

what gear is each person using? (equipment)
what buffs do they have available? (group)
does that person really know how to maximize their dps? (skill)

taking those 3 factors to one extreme or another can more than triple someone's DPS. even something as small as one person in a group getting illusionary arm over another person will cause a 10-15% shift in DPS, which, strewn out over weeks worth of parses (if you're looking at ZW's or otherwise merging statistical data), could be construed as a class imbalance.
