its obviously a big screw up if you need to mentor to be able to advance a quest that requires you to be at the level cap.

a random update from the mobs that have a chance to drop it would have resulted in the same timesink effect (which soe obviously wants) as the shit they did.

but, just wait a month and they will prolly have it nerfed to the point where you simply hail some npc to get the end reward.

not trying to be stupid or anything - but yesterday i got chests off of grey mobs in CL. true - it wasnt the epic quest updates for guardian pt 2. but running around the area for battle of defiance with no clue at the time i just started killing random skeles in the hopes it was a body drop..

took it to long? is it to difficult for you to find a low lvl char? is this more timesink than camping for a high lvl heroic rare spawn with a full group next to a lot of others which need them too?

if the only reason its cause you have to group.. (don't you have to group for "your" difficulty?)and mentor down to camp an easy mob for a chest drop.. stop crying.

Ps: you play a SoE game.. forget your logic or is it logic to nerv a hole class on pvp AND pve server cause there are crying people about the pvp one?

It makes total sense. It's just like the EQ1 rogue epic - have to get 4 buyable robes. I'm the one who figured out which robes it was to begin with, when you say to the npc "WTB Garbs! at CL tunnel" it was kind of obvious, just had to figure out which 4 robes :D
