I've often wondered why some people think good zone design means making it like a maze. If I liked mazes, I'd do math puzzles.

I agree that G Fay is like Nek Forest. Love the zone, hate trying to find anything in it. I get no entertainment out of mazes and puzzles, and in fact get the exact opposite.

That's why I prefer overland zones to dungeons. I can usually find landmarks in overland zones. Those windey, tunneling dunegons (the tower in Rivervale comes to mind) are just a PITA.

Feerrott could be like that, too! It was as annoying as Nek Forest could be, but that zone was made artifically long. I was so glad when I finished the quests in there. I am only going back for FBSS for my alts. Oh *@^#*, I have to go back for To Speak As a Dragon.

I think some of the best work in game is New Tunaria. Stepped into that zone and was just like...WOW! Relatively easy map to get thru and the detail put into that place is something I hope future expansions are modeled after. Haven't zoned into EH yet, but I hear it's a nice zone as well.
