Gnobrin bans people in the official forums for unwritten forum rules

Is there anyway that we could get a CM that actually uhm, participated in the game and knew what was going on? I mean, maybe a CM that actually had more information on the game and communication with BOTH the developers and the players. It'd probably ease up a LOT of the tension that's been occurring as of late. It just seems like there's very little public interaction going on, that it's hard to tell that there's really a CM at all.

All in all, change the CM system, make it actually act as a conduit between the devs, CS, and Players. The CM(s) need to know shit, so they can make accurate information calls based on what Petitions are coming through, talk to the devs about it, see what's going on the forums about the mass petitions about a specific thing, and let the devs know that this is a problem and is it already due to be fixed in a hotfix, or are we waiting for it to trickle down the priority list.

Just got banned myself. Not sure why. 3 days. He locked a thread stating it was in the wrong forum so I started it in what I thought was the correct forum. Bam! Banned.

What a fuck nut. I sent him an e-mail doubt I will hear back.

I wouldn't normally reply to a post like this ...but...

This whole post is based on the fact that you broke the community rules. Had I felt I had broken any forum rule, I wouldn't have even started this thread..but seeing as how I didn't break any forum rules, I thought this thread needed to be created. I agree with you completely...if you know the rules, then get banned for a clear violation of those written rules..you have no right to complain, you might as well shut up right now. However, if you get banned for something that isn't even a rule in the first place, you have a right to complain.

I think the existence of this forum at all, already illustrates the problem. No one likes SOE, and basically they can go fuck themselves and thats why more of their customers post here, then on their official forum.

Once one of the new MMO's comes out that I like better then their "You are in our world and you will play our way, so FUCK YOU!" games, i'll be removing my financial support as well.

And, I've got a few warnings and a ban under my belt. All of them deserved. There's no favoritism going on. Many times people interpret disagreeing with somebody as "trolling" because its beyond them to accept that they might have been wrong in the first place.

I've been accused of being a fanboi (fangurl?) in the level chans several times for trying to defend something SOE has done or is doing right (getting rid of spirit shards or implementing the spam filter) or explaining why they'd be making a bad business move to do such-and-such a thing (making exchange servers fully international) and so on. Sometimes simply appearing to be on SOE's side makes people assume you're not worth listening to. So I'm hardly about to make the same mistake.

The fanboitrolldogs I'm talking about are the ones who show up in every thread where a valid criticism is voiced saying "if you don't like it, quit" or "if you don't enjoy this aspect of the class, then you're obviously just a terrible player," etc. and offer absolutely nothing else to the conversation. In their eyes, SOE can do no wrong and anyone who hints otherwise needs to be attacked, not with reasoned opinions, but with neener-neener type heckling.

When I see people getting away with that and people who are merely critical getting banned, it pisses me off.
