This is utter bullshit, as constructive criticism is "excessive negativity" too, hence a bannable offence. Just post in any thread that is about payment or delayed updates, as soon as you disagree with SoE and the people defending them, you will get a ban, no matter how nice you are about it. Fact.

Can't believe I agree with Kruhl about something

Anyway,

I got suspended for 3 days recently, by Gnobrin. I'm still not entirely sure why. The only thing I can think of was a little, innocent joke I attempted in the official PvP forums. Some things I noticed about that whole thing was:

1. There was no information given regarding the exact reason I had been banned. Just that it was for "trolling" (wtf?), that I had been warned before and then a link to the Rules of Conduct. He'd also included a nice little warning that said something along the lines that if it happens one more time, I'll be permanently banned.

2. Apparently you are allowed to ask questions regarding the ban, or issue a complaint... but there is no contact information available. And you can forget about contacting an administrator, because all PM's are blocked if you're banned.

3. If you contact Gnobrin on a later occasion and ask questions regarding the issue, you will be ignored.

4. The rules on the official forums are exceptionally strictly enforced, and anything and everything seems to always be interpreted in its worst possible sense. Especially if have a history, as in "have been warned before". If you get into a heated discussion with anyone, it will usually end with locked and/or removed threads, as well as bans and suspensions. And we're not even talking about swearing and personal attacks here, because you'll get banned for far more subtle things than that.

I'll just say as the guy before me: Welcome to the club. The official forums are still OK if you're gonna talk about flowers and butterflies, but anything that vaguely resembles a discussion will eventually be shut down. Always. And then they usually kick few people out while they're at it.

In conclusion: Some moderation to make sure nobody gets harassed would have been fine, but they're taking it much further than that... and it is not very community friendly.

Sony? Not community friendly? Naw, surely it isn't so. Note the sarcasm. Other than to rarely check the class boards or the tradeskill board, I don't even bother with the official forums anymore. Too much of a hassle for too little good and accurate information normally.

I'm so hated on the official forums, they delete posts made by other people for me. True story.

I believe Faabio still holds the record for being banned on the most different accounts.

Yeah, i only got banned twice. But I think the reason for the deletion (cuz the post was in no way negative or bashing or contained any poor language) was personal, not because of any broken rules.

Yeah, got banned

May also have called a dev obtuse

You have been banned.
Due to the sparring match in the thread "PVP Video" with you and Sightless as well as your MANY prior warnings and bannings from these forums, you have been removed from these forums permanently. Actions have also been taken against the other forums-user as well. Bickering matches are not accepted in these forums, resulting in this further action against you. ~Gnobrin.

And all i did was tell Slightless (Demron) what a clueless dumbfuck he is. Now we get banned for telling the truth.

WTG Sony (or better Gnobrin and that retarded moderator Echgar - he can only hope he never meets me in RL)
