It has to strip potions and posions, because they are directly affected by aa choices. If youre a posion using scout look at your damn tree, see that it either affects trigger %age, damage, snare, heal, debuff, whatever, and realize that if you dont understand why these have to drop, that youre a retard. What's happening here is that Kruhl, a soloing PvP brigand who happens to raid with his scrub guild occasionaly, wasn't able to get this mirror before LU42 and the massive increase in drop rate. Therefore, he wasn't able to add it to his massive list of "things I need to complain about" that he keeps on his desk.

Now, even random scrubs like him can get the mirror off the broker for a handful of gold instead of going out and working for it. And on a PvP server like Nagafen, these items are (well, were) highly prized because most of us have drastically different preferred specs for PvP and PvE.

He's been granted one of the most powerful tools available on a PvP server for a matter of pennies, and he's going to bitch because now that he gets FREE AA SWAPS between his two favorite specs, he has to spend a few gold on refreshing poisons. Boo-fucking-hoo. It's always been like this, get over it. If you don't want to be affected by it don't use the mirror 4 times a day, or wait until your poison charges are almost worn off. And totems... are you serious? You're complaining about having a 15/30 minute recast totem charge being stripped off you? Are you seriously that daft?

just to throw my opinion it, the buff strip is necessary to prevent players exploiting the system somehow. i'm sure there are ways (people would find them). it's much easier to just remove all buffs than go through the time to code every effect to re-cast or re-calculate. less time on this = more time on something that's broken and affecting gameplay.

it's not so simple that they can just trust the players to not cheat.

They can just as easily be 100% certain and make it only remove AA related buffs. There are a ton of buffs that don't need to be striped. Rather than actually take the time to identify and exclude these buffs they simply strip everything, which is probably like one line of code.

People replying to the OP and calling him a whiner or saying get over it because that's how it's always been are sheep. That sort of mentality doesn't bring about progress.
