You do realize that some people enjoy the current character models. So, basically, you insult their opinion while asking about the models. Then you wondered why you got such a harsh response.

Forum posting 101, be constructive and get constructive responses.
Skeleton revamp has nothing to do with the actual models you or I see on the outside. When designing 3D animatable characters you start with what is called a skeleton or a "rig", kinda like strings for a puppet and "bones" that you pull on with these strings to move the character. The reason EQ2 has such a small variety of actual armor models is because each of the skeletons are different meaning each race would need each model changed to fit the body of the character. If they changed the skeletal system it wouldn't effect the characters too much in ways we see them anyway, but mean they can make one armor design and just have it resized and work for each race.

I'll repeat it, since you are obviously quite simple minded. WoW is waiting for you.

What I keep wondering about, but have not found any thread or other information to clarify, is whether or not they will be able to retain both the standard and sogay graphics when the new skeletons go in. Will they have to choose one or the other?

You're a fucking idiot if you don't think EQ2 lacks severely in armor models and unique looking characters.

It has got better, back in T5-T6 it was a huge joke. A raid geared person would look the exact same as an lvl10 in full newb island gear. At lest now a high end person gets a few colors while the newb just stays with shades of brown.

If they did happen to change the bone system or skeleton which would be pretty extensive, I doubt they would re-outsource the soga to be redone as well. They would need to remove soga because the new armor models wouldn't work on the soga models correctly.

Its still lazy of them to not just design new armor models even if they need to tweak them for each race. Working in small animation productions we could do more than a big company like SoE with as much time as they have on an expansion? They must have like 2 modelers who are out to lunch all the time... All they are doing is taking the existing boring models and recoloring them and adding new texture over the same old model. (which is really pretty fucking simple)

EDIT: The background and environment designers are decent minus the fact that all zones are cookie-cutter from one another. I wonder how many people are really working on models here... Its extremely lazy for a company that wants to draw new customers but reuse the same shit over and over. My team was so excited to finish a project we spent days without sleep working and checking every aspect of what we did to make sure nothing looked the same.
