WTF "need" and "greed" buttons...news flash dimwits, we're all over the age of 12 that's why we play eq2 and not WoW.

The part about adding shinies to lotto is ok as a workaround for the the retarded no trade shinies, but other than that not really needed.

i think the change to need and greed buttons is one of the most retarded things ever...

why?

point one, there are always some fucktards around that claim to need shit loot, i.e. adepts, crap gear and such that really serves no other purpose than vendoring.
There will be people clicking on need for adept 1's just cause it says their class on it and screw the rest of the group over the gold each time.
Seriously, people claiming need on spells below m1 (since adept 3's are crafted, i.e. dont come from groups) should be decapitated, glued back together, then shot multiple times and their corpse should be left to the animals.

point two: is it really so hard to type need or me plz or ffa in group chat? no, its not.

point three: It will do nothing to speed up loot decisions... honestly, stupid pick up groups always take too long on distributing loot, hell, it takes some people a freaking mminute or two to decide if an item is a upgrade for them or not, but thats the problem of fucking noobs with no clue, not the problem of the loot system.

point four: It does nothing to protect the rest of the group from false claims, i.e. a tank can go click need on a healer item and the system wont prevent it, just like its now, so it does nothing to change that for the better or the worse, it bascially stays the same, i.e. assholes will still steal loot. But wasnt preventing that the point behind the change? it does noting to prevent it from happening, so just fuck off with that change and let us keep the good old lotto and have people communicate it in group channel if they need something that drops.

and yep, my grammar is horrible and its a wall of text, but just had to vent, sorry.

I for one am very happy about the new shiney lotto system. There always seems to be one person in a group who spends more time looking for shineys than playing their class, and who sometimes wipes the group by engaging in high risk shiney seeking behavior. And that person always seems to be a scout or mage - the tank and healers in a group rarely, if ever, get shineys in a heroic zone.

By harvesting any kind of shiney, you were obviously engaged in self-seeking behavior rather than to benefit the group. The group got you to the place where you could harvest that shiney, and the group deserves its share. The fact that you have the shiney goggles still gives you a benefit - it provides you with a chance at getting something in a group you otherwise would have no chance at getting.

Shineys for the people, not just one person. What's not to like, unless you're a greedy bastard.
