The slowness we are now experiencing on this site relates to the official forums and EQ2 servers being down.

We are tied into their fate.

It only gets like this when a few thousand people suddenly try and log in and use this site at the same time. We never have this problem when there is a gradual ramp up of users.

I just called SOE support phone line in CA. After a 15 minute wait with "high call volume" a rep told me that about a half hour ago everything went down.. Everything. They are working on it as fast as possible no real ETA but the rep tentatively said maybe about 2 hours.

It appears that RAM is the culprit of our slowness problem from the SOE servers being down.

We are only running at 50% CPU, but we are over 96% of capacity on RAM.

Niber is checking with the host company to see how expensive it will be to double our RAM.

Yep i was calling my new troubador i made to town to buy some new collections and i got booted and server down.. While the fury i box was still in game talking to guild mates telling them what happened and then 5 minutes later fury was booted to hehe.
