I have seen some individual cards drop, but not booster packs. I had assumed that the only way to get them was to purchase them - do the booster packs drop in-game too?

How do you redeem them in LoN? And how do you get your item back in-game if you should happen to get one of these items?

Hell of place to have a first post, but...

I have packs drop on me quite a bit, averaging about two a week, usually while on an alt. My low levels see them quite a bit more than my higher levels, who usually get individual cards to show up.

I used to play Magic:The Gathering and the World of Warcraft card games, so I know the value of an unopened pack with a potential in game item card or rare far outweighs an opened pack of crap cards. I've made quite a bit of plat selling boosters on the broker.

Again, its just another route you can take in the game, like soloing or grouping, questing or grinding, raiding or casual, and I for one am happy about that.

Boosters drop in-game. Check the broker even and lookup "booster". If you're just looking at getting into the game I wouldn't recommend building a raid mob deck until you've built yourself a deck to beat a raid.

I agree!

The exceptionally low low drop rate of LoN cards (other than the special advert raid cards on their "special" weekends of increased drop rates) is enough for them to make the claim they're available in-game without actually making them -viably- available any way except by purchasing them from SoE.

The fact the LoN items have gotten progressively better and are even on lists of the "best" gear for thus and so slot is worse, to me, than a solo quest reward being better than loot available only in the hardest raid zones.
