Fuck systems that are like that. I do think he's an asshole, because you really shouldn't take something that'd be a huge upgrade for you MT/OTs, but if he wanted to be, that's his choice. Just means you need to make fun of him for the rest of his time.

Well I see the negatives of both systems. I have been in a leader decided loot guild for over 2 years, now this being my first in a DKP guild. Yes certain pieces especially for a MT will make raiding "easier", but if it died once it will die again I am assuming is the majority thought. I guess what it boils down to is asshole players in a guild making shitty decisions, so your correct in your reply that its either assigned or bid on. Habits are hard to quit.

One piece of loot doesn't make or break a guild or a MT. Just go and kill it again. There'll be fewer people to bid on it next time it drops!

Re: Question - Drape of Selrach
Personally, I'm usually the 3rd of 3 plate tanks to get a piece of loot - unless its a pally-specific drop. This is for a couple of reasons:
1) I'm a n00b and, thus, don't have much in the way of DKP;
2) I don't mind declining drops that are upgrades for the MT
In the end it seems to save us all DKP (expect when I get a little excited over the Battleguard of Atrebe) and we all, eventually, get our upgrades.
So, technically, its his DKP to do with what he pleases. Will it halt your progression at T2 now that he's taken the Drape? I doubt it. Will it make for a few uncomfortable moments in the guild - like when someone coughs and mutters "lootwhore!" on vent? Prolly.
One thing is for sure. You can't mix DKP with assigned loot. One defeats the purpose of the other.

Re: Question - Drape of Selrach
Im 100% sure this peice of gear will not affect your raid success. Simply kill him again FFS.
Either assign loot or have dkp, but be consistent and dont whine when it doesnt go your way, at least in public.
And I agree, this isnt the place to post your guild drama.

Re: Question - Drape of Selrach
Your poll choices kind of suck. Sure he was inconsiderate of the guild, but it is his DKP and your bad loot system, so he can do what he wants.

Re: Question - Drape of Selrach
I am a believer people can spend their DKP how they want, this isn't a whine saying so and so did this blah blah blah. It's a simple poll asking for others opinions. I didn't make more poll options because it was clear and concise and straight to the point.

Re: Question - Drape of Selrach
Why bring a bruiser on raids if he doesn't have equal treatment? If anything you need to make a MT clause or something with a higher min/price, but if the mt wants it he gets it

You wouldn't have posted it, if it wasn't a whine.

Maybe it was an honest attempt to see if there are variants of the pure DKP system?
