Question - Drape of Selrach

Question for all of you? I understand that DKP there is for a reason and people should be able to bid on whatever they please, but in this situation do you think this person was screwing over the guild, out of greed for himself. An item dropped last night that was a major upgrade for the guilds Main Tank & Off Tank. But instead a Bruiser decided to out bid them. The item that dropped was Drape of Selrach, now I’m not sure how rare this cloak is, but should it have went to a plate tank who actually tanks instead of a class that occasionally drags a mob to the Off Tank?In the particular guild, we occasionally wipe due to 100-200hp less on certain mobs. We aren’t in VP yet and are in sub par T8 gear. I’m also the main tank and on certain fights I run out of power. I’m not a greedy person and at first it didn’t bother me, but after thinking about it, was the bruiser just being inconsiderate of the guild and probably thinking more about himself than progression? Would that 7 defense and 400hp and power proc been better off to the off tank or main tank, who actually get’s hit? But after all we all do DKP and it’s there for a reason, just want to know what others think, how much would the guild have benefited by letting the off tank or main tank have it…

maybe you should not post crap like this. In every dkp based guild I have ever been in certain pieces for the MT are designated, if its such a back breaker you guys should have assigned it

Well, I think he's an asshole. But it's your DKP system, you put the flaws in it, and that means you have to deal with it.

Posts like this are stupid. Of course every fucking item that drops is going to be better for someone else. The Bruiser earned his DKP and spent it on something he wanted. If it pissed you or the tanks off, then your tanks should have outbid him or passed on something earlier so they could outbid him.

Bruiser is an asshole, but you brought it upon your self with the system. What are you spending your dkp on anyways? Our MT always is close to the top of the dkp since he usually has no competition for loot, since people want to progress over being greedy

Completely disagree. Why have DKP loot, if you also do Officer Assigned Loot? It's basically saying that if we don't agree with who wins the item, we can decide exactly who gets it.

Fuck systems that are like that. I do think he's an asshole, because you really shouldn't take something that'd be a huge upgrade for you MT/OTs, but if he wanted to be, that's his choice. Just means you need to make fun of him for the rest of his time.

Been killing the bastard for a while now and have yet to even see it.

I probably should have just did a QFE on Pinski's post, but I think the voting options are fucked. Yes, I think it was a selfish act on the bruiser's part, but I also happen to despise DKP systems in general and tbh, its the fault of the loot rules you've designated.

Definatley good for the MT, but hey if your guild is rolling along killing shit anyway, 7 def add 55str/stam (yes from memory, dont quote me) wont make or break the raid, and the DKP system is there for a reason.

Having said that i did decline on it for our MT, 1st drop after after 4 scout ones in a row :P

There's an old footy saying "I'ts all the 1 percent'ers that add up"

I think you should forget it and move on, and try get another one for the MT, least you know you can beat it now
