Well, getting into the finer points of C++ can get pretty complex. I can see that four years of nothing but Java wouldn't cut it. You haven't learned memory management, for one thing. You probably haven't focused so hard on performance, either. I'm not knocking Java, Java is a different world, that's all.
There might be other experience that would be equivalent to four years of C++, but I can't think what it is right now.
And by the way, yes, I am a professional game programmer, among other things.
