It sounds like the PVP servers are worse off than the PVE servers, I know I didn't have any lag last night.

Appreciate you taking the time to look into this.

The lag issue though is really making some of the content abnormally dificult to do. Case in point, if you happen to be doing any content that requires you to click on statues in order to keep from getting the raid Pwned by (name your effect here) the 5 second lag is just enough to get your ass handed to you time and time again. If you have say 4 statues to click with each person lagging at diff times (or so it seems) then you chance of getting Pwned increases 4 fold.

Lag is atrocious.

It is especially bad on the new contested, but it is still really bad in VP. For example, I clicked on the silverwing "switch", fully casted (the bar dissapeared) and when I was already back at the tank it said "Interrupted" - lame! I had to go do it again.

This is indicative of server lag, not client.

CA/spell lag seems only to be in combat, and 1-3 seconds (never much worse).

Chat lag is constant (and variable). Once it gets beyond a certain point, it appears the server crashes.

I have yet to see server query commands, like /who, lag at all.
I've been just playing a lowbie alt lately in Exile and the chat channel lag is 10-30 seconds sometimes. The CA lag is nonexistant ( been mainly pvping in Butcherblock with a fury ). he went LD and came back SENT me a tell, I sent him one back invited him to group and he still didn't show up on /who.

I don't know what the deal was, but the server crashed about 10 seconds later.

Hello Petgroup,

This is GM Dyntin at your service. Thank you for contacting In-game Customer Service Staff. I understand that your character has been experiencing Lag while in combat. My apologies for the inconvenience this issue has caused.

I have taken a look at your server and have found no players with the name 'Lag'. If you experience this player again, please send us another petition. I am sorry but we will not assist you further in this regard.

I appreciate your cooperation in reporting those names. We will look into it. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us again.

What would help is if someone would PM me while you are in a zone that is lagging so I can log in and check out exactly what is going on. I check my email pretty much all day and PMs do send me emails so I should be able to hop in within a few minutes.
This new lag is really annoying, especially as an Assassin... and it exists on Runnyeye that's for sure.

We are about to do Veeshan's Peak, if it's still lagging like yesterday (2 second freeze/spike or more every minute or less when fighting) then I guess I could PM you.

Default Re: Lag

The lag for me is only noticeable when I am chain casting spells. Feels like doing Pumpky before the lag fix last summer. Same old same old. Casting bar goes to full, sits there with next spell queued up. I tend to do small movements during the recovery period of my spells, and I'm getting interupts because the spell is stuck at full cast bar. My FPS are normal (45-50 fps), ping is normal (<130ms), Packet Loss is normal (0).

One thing that might help is that the following happened despite the lag:

Normal (pre-lag) situation: Cast Ball of Magma, Ball of Magma Lands, Click Freehand Sorcery (instant cast) hotkey immedaitely followed by clicking on Bolt of Ice. Freehand sorcery buff shows up and I start casting Bolt of Ice.

Well, here is what I saw last night:

Abnormal (LAAAAG) Situation: Cast Ball of Magma, Ball of Magma Cast Bar Gets Stuck at full, out of habit click Freehand Sorcerery (instant cast) immediately followed by clicking on Bolt of Ice. I saw the Bolt of Ice casting bar first so I assumed I was too quick and didn't get Freehand Sorcerery off, but then suddenly it appears on me while I'm mid-cast on Bolt of Ice.

I don't even know how that would happen. Why would my client start showing the casting bar for Bolt of Ice before my client knows about the buff I casted on myself prior to casting Bolt of Ice?

I found the fix for this!!! The only time I experience any sort of lag is when I log into the game. Apart from that I'm lag free. Just click that "X" on the top right of the eq2 window and your lag goes away along with all the frustration of playing this game.

I haven't played in the last couple weeks really but one thing I don't understand is this. One dev comes here like this lag is brand new information and he can't get anyone to replicate this. Most everyone that raids is complaining of this. I thought devs played in quite a few of the high end guilds and the reason this was such a good idea for them to be there is so they can see first hand how the game at that level performs. Either the devs hadn't raided between the time when the gu was released and prior to the complaints funneling in or the devs don't share information between them when they step into the office the next morning.

This was very odd, glad to see many people are on the same page. Everyone last night that I was grouped with experienced excessive amounts of latency UNTIL we stepped into VoES. Before here we were helping guildies finish some Kunzar Jungle quests and it was atrocious. Despite the casting of spells or general movement it was horrible.

With the update they did today, I was really hoping to see that they fixed what ever was causing this issue, but I should of known. Seriously, how has this not been fixed by now, LU 43 introduced this lag again, just break down the damn code and see what was broken. It's really not that hard, but I'll be looking forward to this lag for the next 3-4 months while you guys fix Nek castle or some shit...
