At this point, if I were the producer of EQ2, I'd call for a rollback of GU43 until they figure out what introduced the lag.

This is another reason why massive GU's are FTL and semi-daily to weekly hotfixes are the way to go.

Most people bitch because they are at least a little passionate about something.
Lots of people actually really like eq2 and want it to not suck.

When the collective word gets out on the official forums with little to no official word on things, it gets people rankled up.
When they keep fixing shit that wasn't broken and ignoring things that are, people get upset.

The natural reaction for many is to post something on the official forums in hopes for information, an eta or just a plain old "we don't know".

Generally when you post there in fanboy style, it either goes unheard, gets buried in off topic bullshit or gets ignored.

It boils down to the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Of course if you are too squeaky, they are liable to just replace you with another tire.


The red names really don't give a good representation of their team to its community. I suspect that the powers that be have their limitations on free speech as well.

No, but as a customer service oriented company you need to listen to the customers.

Any sort of criticism, any sort of problem that is posted that can be backed up by easily reproduced methods and explained fully are deleted/removed. No matter what the tone or language used.

They do not have to be a democracy, no one is actually asking for that.

What people are asking for are the problems with a service they are paying for to be addressed, to have public notice for others with the same problem that didn't want to start a thread of their own to post on and share what/how it happened to them.

While censoring the language via chat filter is already in place, there is only a need for the moderators to catch people trying to bypass the filter and stop people from posting how to's for cheats/exploits and RMTs. Keeping threads requested by the OP on topic is another.

Anything more than that is just piss poor service. That is being paid for by the people being banned/suspended and/or having their threads deleted/locked.

Sorry, but once again you're dead wrong in how a forum set for a service that is being payed for should be run, it should be there to support the service provided, including the acknowledgement and support of customers that find problems with the service.

I doubt you and I will ever see eye to eye on that subject. SOE has other means of feedback. There are in game functions for that as well as things like the Community Summit that happen in order for the developers to get the answers to what they need to know. Devs read the bug reports and they do know what people complain about. The forums do very little for that purpose.

SOE's forums are public and they have a obligation to make them a somewhat pleasant for EVERYONE who reads them, not just those who have a complaint. The gripes that happen there are very rarely useful or helpful and they very quickly turn into horrible cesspools of arguing and heated fuck yous. You take any give topic that people feel passionately about and it turns into 180 pages of dick wagging. No dev has the time to dig through all of that to find the slivers of truth, especially since you want them to fix things and not spend time listening to the masses whine about what they think needs fixing.

I can't believe after all your shit about how they made you mad and you left that you'd still be such a fangurl. Its shameful how you see what they are really. Humans with regular thought processes should be able to see an abuse of power and management at moments. lol. I'm a realist and I deal with things in a all grown up manner. I don't get all pissy and indignant because it's not worth it. I do see those things, and as I have said before I reacted it to it in the way that I saw fit...I stopped posting there.

Devs read and post here too, so it's not like I need spend my time fighting against a system that I cannot win against. If I have something to say, I simply use other methods of saying it.
