Reasons? Several, but it hasn't anything to do with this oh-so-bad game and its mechanics. In fact, there was nothing bad about the game or the community. Both rock in my opinion.

Because a 10m difference in subs is not a rivalry, that's Blizzard straight up bending SOE over.

WoW's still adding servers, which convinced me to finally try it...
I don't get it, but then again, everyone knows what World of Warcraft is, if you mention EQ2 to people they have no idea.

Marketing and distribution, you'd think Sony of all companies would appreciate the value of those things, and yet..

An EQ2 commercial is actually what got me into the game since I was looking for a MMO to start playing at the time.
It's been awhile, but it was the video that they played at the beginning of the game.

They also ran one for DoF. They also ran the same commercial when EoF came out. Lame. They made a movie for Videogames Live that was just a rehash of the DoF commercial. It was kind of hard to hear the orchestra over the audience laughing...

i dont think that someone cares but here are resons why my both accounts (more than 2 years subscriber) are pending now:

1) devs DONT listen to reasonable complaints

2) devs dont care about destroyed pvp, this shite i dont call pvp, good pvp was in KoS times (minus spell resists)

3) EoF didnt ruin game that much, because it had same max lvl as KoS, but RoK prooved idiocy of new devs attempts to make EQ2 more WOW-LIKE

4) as above: RoK took away all fun, grouping, lust for anything, boring (and miserable) solo game

maybe im old fashioned moron but game was on top during KoS expansion.

and to add: pvp got owned by adding more low lvl zones and by adding idiotic forced xp from pvp -and this comes from someone who was never truly locked for pvp, i just loved making new toons and enjoyed commonlands massive pvp, when came Gfay and DLW it was all gone
