I cancelled this morning.

RoK is the reason I'm done with the game. I didn't like the quest conveyor belt, I found the instances and shared dungeons uninspiring. I actually thought raiding wasn't that bad but itemisation was garbage.

Playing a Ranger and having their raid parsing bolloxed for 5 months at RoK launch also dulled my enthusiasm for the game.

I don't hate the game, I never have. But I do view it now with almost total apathy.

I'll miss the people and this site but having played since launch, it's time for something different. Whatever I do, I can't see myself playing another MMO.

Perhaps ill come back, but I dont see it happening before a worthy expansion is released. Im not so sure this one in November will be up to par.

Cancelled x2, my server (Vox) has been dead for a while now. It was starting to smell. I don't feel like rerolling on another server so I'm trying other games. I don't see coming back anytime soon. AoC has me entertained for the time being.

I canceled back on May 20 (actually about 6 weeks before but my sub. didn't expire until then). My decision was based on the simple fact that A LOT of players on Venekor were complaining about the drop in population. Some of the players starting petitioning SOE and even used their forums to ask if free transfers or a merger was coming...and they didn't have the courtesy to even respond. Some players complained about it...and others, like myself, chose to walk away.

Customer service blows at SOE. In fact, when I was told about the SOE free summer, I did think I would log in to say hey to some old guildies, but I didn't qualify for the free summer. Apparently, there is an inactive status requirement of at least 60 days. The only logical reason to allow everyone in the world to play for free but this group of people is clearly to punish them for leaving to try AoC.

When I tried to point out (long distance phone call) that this didn't make sense to a customer service rep, he was a hostile little punk...and when I asked for a manager, he hung up on me.

The livinglegacy of SOE is crappy customer service, which is why I left in the first place. Ironically, some of the players would have been content to just hear SOE say "free transfers are being considered", but they are too arrogant to even toss a small bone out to customers.

I got all my toon trasnferred for FREE from Everfrost to Unrest because of the horrible population. But it took more work on my end then it did thiers.

I had to call SOE 3 time, do 2 live chats and 2 ingame petitions. I was told differing stories, mainly from phone support that i needed to talk to an ingame GM which I did and was told they 100% did not have the capability as a GM. I then called SOE again and got thier CS manager involved Lyman Tuttle lyman.tuttle@soe.com if anyone interested. In the end it took a Senior GM all of 5 mis (probably less to transfer 6 toons).

So if your looking for a transfer let me save you some time and just petition, when A GM answers have it escalted to a Senior GM, and just say "hey look this servers dead if you wanna keep me around move me to a playable server it takes you little to no time". IF they try to lie and tell you it is a complicated process tell them to look and my ingame petition history for charcter Kelstat Server Unrest.

Actually, you are right, the process is simple. The program is now automated to move toons, so there is no challenge for SOE on it.

The reasons I didn't torment them too much about moving my toons was because we would move as a guild if we were going, so we were hoping for free transfers for a server that is dead.

I have been watching posts by Darkor, and at one time, his count was a total of 82 people from all 3 factions. I don't know what SOE's issue is with people, but they simply don't like to help them.

I have now banned SOE products from my house because of the mistreatment I got from the customer service rep that hung up on me. I still liked the game at the point I quit, but I now loathe the company that runs it, so I won't have anything to do with them unless one of their managers gets back in touch with me and apologizes, which won't happen.

This never was about AoC for me, but I know I will drop the money on that game before I would pay to play this one again because of SOE's arrogance.

Actually I doubt I will. I was waiting for them to offer free transfers, but now with the fact that a customer service rep hung up on me instead of allowing me to speak to a manager; I don't need to deal with it.

I had quit for 3 months before the RoK expansion, and came back when my son had told me some of the things they had done. I was willing to come back to the game for the free summer to see if their promotion would help the population issue of Venekor, but I am excluded from that.

There really isn't much reason to pay to play while everyone else is playing for free, and the poor customer service isn't improving. The new expansion in November isn't of interest to me; I would rather throw the $40 toward something other than a company that doesn't care about its customers.
