"For the greater good" definitely does not justify ruining the play experience for paying, innocent customers, nor does it excuse anything. When I petitioned to get my plat back, I recieved a reply that basically said, "You don't have power, and we can do anything we want. Deal with it." They talked down to me in a very disrespectful manner (whatever happened to "the customer is always right"?) and refused to give me my plat back.
I think I got lucky, because I had several items they didn't take that were worth a lot of money, so I bounced back quickly, got a replacement set of armor and just started to farm. I'm nowhere near as rich as I was before, but at least I got through it... I've got almost everything I had before, but SOE will never be the same to me.
There are certain things a Guide like myself has to follow, and of course professionalism is one of them... but I don't know if we guides and the actual customer service reps have the same definition of professionalism.
