Cancelled almost a year ago, now. Found out that I was pregnant and devoted my time and energy into my son.

From what I've read about RoK, I won't be coming back. They never fixed itemization. Warden class issues still remain outstanding. Lag is still apparently an issue. And the whole "making race count" thing pissed me off. This was the one game you could come to and make any race/class combination.

Nope, still won't come back. I played AoC for a while. When that game's lag got to me, I moved to WoW again. Played that for a while. Cancelled that because I had just moved and my life was all over the place between settling in, being a mom, and now I'm due with my second child in March.

If I did go back to an MMORPG, it'd be WoW. No matter what level I've been in that game, I always had fun. The versatility with the mod / UI customization made the game very enjoyable for me. I realize the game isn't for everyone, but it's for me.

Right now, though, I'm back on Oblivion. Downloaded a couple of new race/guild/class mods and it's like playing a whole new game for me. But yeah, there you go.

I may leave soon, the raid content is the most boring i have ever seen. Compared to Wow it's a joke.

Wow classes were a bit unbalanced but ou could raid with almost any team (with 1-2 solid tanks) , encouters were tricky and Fun with a lot of CC, running mana management. The unbalance in Eq2 is extreme.


Wow had no Buffing class and they did the right choice, illu (compression, regen mana ) and bards ( quite similar buf) impact is way to high. I wonder how they ended doing a mistake similar to the Eq1 mother of all faults.

Eq2 raid is brutal, it's a spam feast the only issues being positionning and timing of AOEs. It sucks. I also hate the fact that many heals/buf are group only , i should be able to cast a group heal on another group.

Eq2 do not offer small raids (12-18) content (exept the guild missions that nobody does) , Karazhan in Wow was so fun
for small guilds.


Wow T8 instances and factions allowed people to get raid gear quite fast, in Eq it seems that a year of farming won't be enough.
I refuse to do Maiden or Veksar 100 times, i will never farm instances.


Eq2 does not reward grouping, in WOW someone gruping 100% of his time would be wearing much better gear than a soloer, and this without extreme farming. In Eq2 drop from bosses are 98% of the time not even better hn solo quested items or mastercrafted.

I m gonna stay a bit to do bit more raiding and to see TSO but since the dev do not seem to be ready to take players remarks into account i m 100% sure to be gone a few monthes.

Sark, have you played TSO yet? I ask because you say that EQ2 doesn't reward you for grouping and that all changed with TSO. You can get a hell of a lot better armor when grouping now (due to void shards) and you get tons of AA from the missions.

I agree that classes are not well balanced, but I don't think it is any worse than WoW. Devs have stated that they are going to be reballancing the tanks soon after TSO, so that will change a lot.

Well i guess this game is really dying now so going to cancel account again. I tried to buy expansion from a store here is australia yesterday and got nowhere lol. Not 1 of the 5 software stores are even getting it at all ever lol. I walk in and all i see is WOW, WARhammer and even Age of conan. So well done SOE marketting once again GREAT JOB haha.
So yes i could download the expansion through soe store but this is where i have another issue and an indications of the dying nature of eq2. It would cost me approx $48 to get the eq2 expansion which ofcourse includes all previous expansions ect ect ect. And as a reward i get some new instances and the joy of grinding 60 aa levels. For the same price WOW releases a expansion (only there 2nd) that includes a new class new zones and another 10 levels ect ect ect for the same price!!!!.
Why the hell do i have to pay $48 for something when i already have 85% of the content your selling me on that disk!!!

I hope this game stays alive and draws me back into it at some stage soon. i have played it and loved it for 3+ years and its sad to see it where it is right now with the lack of players. Might even be time to look at another server merge soe.


Warhammer = fun but to easy and lacks end game. (you only get so much joy from raiding to same keeps every day)

Age Of conan = shit......every week they change the way most classes work.

WoW = still the best supported and put together game on the market but its Wow......

Eq2 = dying fast and marketted terribly

Eq1 = still the best game ever and anything that comes after it will not match it mainly due to the fact all the good gamers are spread over 30+ mmo's these days but when eq1 came out everyone was in one place including the good devs.

That's got to be one of the most stupid things I ever read.
There's many good reasons in this thread of people quitting and why you should quit.
But saying that extra levels equals more content, while 60 AA points are a "grind" that you don't want to do, and that shitty marketing drives you away.... well that doesn't make sense at all!

Are you the kind of person who says "this is yummy" just because it's printed on the box of cereal?
Personally I judge by content(s), and not by label. And so far, the content(s) is tasty. =)

/Bows. Glad to be setting new standards.

But its a value for money thing from where i am sitting and right now i feel like i'm not getting it from SOE. If you think you are getting as much content as the people playing WoW are for the same money your kiding yourself.

I play 4 mmo's these days so something had to go and well this was the obvious choice. And hey if i decide to get the next expansion in 6 months i'll get this one free anyway haha.

Warfare

EQ2 is far from perfect, but if you are judging games purely by content and many other development factors, SoE (*grinds teeth*) does not do that bad. I play the game for what it is, and it is a lot better than many of these other games. WAR had potential but is too bland through-out and is not too far in-depth.

Been free from SoE for a year now, and been trying out both AoC and Warhammer and I'll have to admit- eq2 was a better game, although its an older gamer. Gonna try out that Dofus now, free is good, and it looks soo fun..
