Resubbed at Xmas but cancelling in on my mind atm. The server is dead as a dodo and finding a group is almost impossible. Logging in most nights to be bored and the new expansion excitement has worn off.

I might just wait for The Secret World MMO to come out. It has no levels to grind and sounds different to the "lvl 80 ding" MMOs around atm lol.

Seriously, all those swaying tree branches moving in random directions, multiplied by however many trees are in my view and draw distance.

Mythic, please give me a way to turn off swaying branches, so my client can concentrate on more important things, such as providing me quicker response times and feedback during combat. - "Oldguy" WAR whine thread.

I absolutely agree. This game is nothing but an e-peen fest. There is no real story, no real progression. The only tradeskills I ever made use of were potions.

I shouldn't just pick on EQ2. All MMO's are like this. EQ1 had it sorta right. It was hard, raiding and progression thru the planes was cool.

After reading this post I thought I post the email that I sent my friend on SoE. If I am wrong on some of the things I have said down below please correct me...thanks.

I wouldn't go back to SWG if my life depended on it. Honestly...Im not a huge fan of SoE ever since they fucked up SWG, EQ1, and EQ2.

EQ1 = pulling out Xpacs every other month and not letting the costumers enjoy the content they put out the month prior.

EQ2 = Releasing a game to soon without the content being completed...took them a year or so to finish it.

SWG = for completely changing the combat system due to Jedi’s being to powerful. They wanted everyone to be equal so they changed it so that anyone has a chance to kill a Jedi.

They even took it a step further and decided to change SWG to a first person shooter game. After that SWG went from a customer base of 5 million down to 15,000 users.

After the massive loss of customers SoE was forced to have SWG go back to the way they had it but, was to late.

Just recently SoE was about to change the combat system on how Warriors control agro in EQ2...you notice they stop that, do you know why? Tons of people complaining about leaving and because of this they stop the combat revamp due to past history they had with other MMOs...mainly SWG. They did not want to repeat them selves.

Lucas Arts not happy on how SoE handled SWG decided to go with BioWare to produce another MMO about starwars. It was a rude awakening when Bioware announced it last year about the new Starwars MMO. SoE was not happy and they feared once this MMO comes out SWG will be shut down. It is still being decided if SWG will be shut down but Lucas Arts told them if they don’t get a customer base of 30k they will demand that SoE shut down SWG.

Some how SoE manage to work a deal with Lucas to keep SWG a dying MMO going...for how long who knows.

And now you know the truth about SoE and why so many people hate the company...there are more stuff about them but I let you find that out on your own...look up vanguard.

Vanguard was done by Sigil and not SOE, SOE actually made Vanguard playable. The lead developer of Vanguard did not work on the game but actually did opium almost the entire time. So Vanguard was fucked with either Microsoft or SOE as the publisher.

Granted SOE still has a lot of problems but Vanguard was fucked already.

I was told Vanguard was created by the original creators of EQ1 and decided to make their own MMO with the support of Microsoft. They backed out of the deal with Microsoft due to MS wanting the game to run only on their OS and no one else.

Is this story true or just some made up crap that someone thought up?

Flames actually brought me back once. I thought to myself, that the people here generally know what they're talking about maybe it won't be so bad.

Two years later, as you said, Flames made me realize how much time I was wasting on this game. Especially since I wasn't even raiding.

I've cancelled before and now I'm going to try again. I really thought things would get better. But the changes coming are not good I don't think.

Anyway the frustration of the attitudes toward certain classes reminds me of racism /sigh And I'm just tired of it atm lol
