I cancelled my account, and here's why - Page 68

My wife and I subs that we have had with SoE uninterrupted since 1999, along with my RL friends all canceled, and toons being sold on exchange. Our reasons are rediculously long, but heres our top 10.

10. Content has become repetative and boring, leaving PVP as the only entertainment outlet.

9. The promise of better player-dev communication after the fighter mess, only to get less communication about game changes.

8. Shard of Love.

7. PVP server merge Con.

6. Complete lack of class balance or even an attempt of class balance.

5. LoN only Dungeon.

4. Being disrespected by Kiara because i had proven her wrong with her own posts. I wish i could just /ban people in RL when i was getting owned by them.

3. The upcoming really bad expansion. a dozen instances and 3 open zones, and 10 new cookie cutter levels to grind. Oh but they are adding levels to the older TSO zones, because we havent run them enough at level 80. /roll eyes.

2. Continue'd carebearing the game over the last year.

1. Aerlik, and Smed for not removing Aerlik a long time ago.

I will never return to an SoE game. I learned that forcing a game just because its comfortable and familar just made it all worse. I have had more fun in the last 3 weeks then i ever had in the last 3 years of EQ2.

I cancelled because the game got boring and dull over the years. Maybe ill return for the addon if its good ,if its not ill stay away.

Cancelled about 4 months ago... can't say I miss the game. The only things keeping me playing since mid-RoK were guildies & friends.

No sense rehashing over the game's many faults - we all know what they are. I'm really not bitter about SOE and their bullshit, and haven't endlessly trolled this board about why others should quit. I had way beyond $15 worth of fun for many months as I progressed in the game.

The problem was that as much as I enjoyed playing with my guildmates, raiding Eq2's endgame content became a monotonous chore. True, I never killed an avatar, but I doubt more tedious control-effect encounters would have changed my mind about that.

Unless a major overhaul of the game is instituted I don't ever forsee myself resubbing. And really, the odds of a major overhaul on a game this old are pretty slim. Good luck to those that decide to stick it out, and I hope things turn around but sadly I don't see much light on the horizon with the development team that is currently in place.

Cancelled one account, rarely play the one account I have left so I guess I am still allowing SOE to bone me to an extent but hard to turn my back on the guild and the friends I've built up over the years.

Been battling random crashed for sometime. Tried to log in on the first, and apparently 6 month sub had expired.

Just left it expired. Might resub after new shader and update.

Cancelled one of my accounts... looking for better options for me and the rest of my great guildies, but haven't found something so far.

Hope SW TOR will be good... then they can have my other toons as well.
