I cancelled my account, and here's why
Everyone that's been bitching about shitty raid encounters, declining standards of quality, devs that are not listening, pointless grinds, crappy itemization, and now this latest bullshit... it is time to put your money where your mouth is and speak the only language Sony understands.
Yes, you put in a shitload of time here and you have made friends. Maybe you're competing with other guilds on your server and you don't want to let the team down. That is what allows them to think that they can keep stringing you along without paying attention to any of the crap you care about. If you keep paying, the suits have no incentive to change the way they do business. Zero. They will cut salaries, staff, and budget as far as they can while still retaining accounts. The savings get passed on to the customer as shitty content.
And let's face it, if you are reading EQ2Flames you probably don't have anything left to prove. Everyone knows you can DPS or hold aggro like a mothafucka or heal through anything... because it truly isn't that hard, and because you put in the time. All you are doing at this point is just pouring in time to defeat an RNG on loot and push DPS numbers higher and higher. You're outsmarting challenges that aren't too challenging to begin with, set by people who can flip a switch and set you back to square one on the treadmill tomorrow.
So send them a message. Let your account expire until they make changes that you want. Maybe they never will. Oh well, there are other games. You can find another way to get your fix until Warhammer or Conan or whatever. Maybe you will lose your chance at a first at Shard of Hate, but there's probably a guild out there holding the strategies already, courtesy of the management. Maybe you will come back in a couple weeks, or a month... but at least that is money that they will never get back.
If you can dig it, let's fill this thread up with cancellations and tell them why... since they no longer even have a multiple choice feedback form.
