As we all agree on the necessity of a board like eq2flames, the freedom of speech, the right of an opinion and to state this opinion in a matter and language we are all used to (even thou that the schoolboard doesn't like to hear this) has it come to a point where the majority of this board has become unusable for any game related discussions since a few trolls, possibly just a handfull, derail every topic, harass every new poster and are being deconstructive in every sense of the word.

Don't get me wrong, we already have a board that bans, moderates, castrates and has people disapearing like Hoffa and no one wants that.....wait...maybe for a few chosen ones?

It also makes me wonder in which business model someone could be allowed to make 8k-10k posts of such a nature over a period of time that will drive away possibly 100k clicks on this site and drastically reduces advertisement revenue? It certainly drives me away since useful information is harder and harder to find in this mounting heap of garbage.

I am pretty sure that the usual suspects will line up here to give me all they can give (expect 4-letter words incoherently strung together) and that a reasoning approach won't work with them since they will be undoubtfully correct in their opinion, selfrighteous trolls they are. And of course I expect our "carebear" posters who should start to realize that without an orginal 'carebear' this site would not exist for the eq2 community.

Nonetheless I would like to politely ask them, those trolls (they know who they are), to rethink their usage of this board for some time. Then the actual owner can make a reasonable decision on the number of diminishing or increasing clicks on the board and call me out on being stupidly naive or whatever.

Yshbyn, this site wasn't created to make money. The ads are only here to pay for the bandwidth it had been using when it was getting so much traffic. If it loses the traffic, we'll probably get rid of the ads and carry on as we have, maybe with lower tiered hosting, but we won't have many too many people to worry about server performance and such.

Sure, lots of people miss the "love" we were getting from some developers who would rather log on here and talk smack than do their jobs, but such is life. We have less people from Sony and their fansites cluttering up our posts and the game doesn't work any better. Who would you think came out of this ahead?

Lol. This may come as a surprise to you but I was diligently digging through this site long, long before I ever had the urge to post.

I think it's great that you care about the game and the community, but it seems to have the unfortunate side-effect of giving you the impression that you're somehow more important than others.
