the average person wont find all the viruses on the box, why? because some of the viruses will be variants of known viruses that are changed just enuff to get past current definitions. I have NEVER seen any antivirus that finds everything all of the time, it doesnt exist. bottom line is unless you are familiar with removing malware, its probably still there despite the AVG scanner saying its clean (i use AVG often when cleaning machines but it is not perfect and often leaves some malware behind) also, if you get a good rootkit on yer box, the av software most likely isnt going to find it anyway, you need a rootkit detection tool and from what i have read, most of them suck.
besides, you really think sony that got hacked and not your computer illiterate friends?
