The easiest way to auto-install an application in Internet Explorer is through an ActiveX control. The Java download for Firefox is an EXE File. Which is really how it should be. A web browser plugin should not be adding stuff to my System Tray or C:\Windows or C:\Program Files.

Oh I know Java is a programming language. And I know that ActiveX controls are developed in Visual Studio. As you stated above, I am talking about Java Applets which are comparable to ActiveX. I am not a Java fanboy by any stretch. I just have a problem with web browsers that hand over the keys to the whole computer to web plugins. Again IE6 SP2 and IE7 go a long way to improving this, but there are still flaws found all the time. Firefox might have flaws, but they rarely open the whole PC up to a malicious website. If you compare all the vulnerabilities of IE and those of Firefox, the Firefox ones are much less destructive. This simply cannot be denied.

Following that he received this in-game mail...

OK, im back. had to get the weeks raids over with but last night i sat down and started cleaning one of the machines i have at my house. I took pictures that showed the system time and kept the original order of the pics so you can follow along with me. Note that before i started the pics (which was this morning) i had already booted the box to safe mode and run autoruns to see what all i needed to deal with first and removed the autoruns for all the malware entries i saw. i also turned off system restore and ran a temp file cleanup program to reduce the number of files the AV progs need to deal with. I booted back to normal mode and installed, updated and started a sophos scan then went to bed. when i got up it had found and cleaned about 100 viruses but there were things in quarantine it couldnt delete so i figured that was a good point to start building my case that petgroup is full of shit and a fucking moron who cleans malware about as good as homeless people clean windshields.

In the first pics you can see that sophos is finding malware but cannot clean it and does not give the option to just delete the files, no huge deal since it did identify the malware i can use other tools to kill and delete the files






Since i used autoruns to see all the shit that starts with the system (way more than msconfig shows) i knoew there was still malware on the box, and i went and verified that. here are 3 files i know are malware that sophos did not find at all, even when i directly scanned the files










Now since i know Sophos didnt find and clean everything, i uninstalled it and installed the Free AVG offering, I set it to scan ONLY the windows directory because i wanted to get these pics done before i left for work. AVG immediately identified one of the suspect files as a trojan downloader and cleaned it, it also found another virus sophos missed.





Since AVG didnt find the other files i know are malware, and since Petgroup seemed to think Panda AV was a joke, i downloaded it and ran it first on just the windows directory and low and behold it found one of the other files i said was a virus. Then since i think my point was made, i started a full scan and before i left for work it had found 37 infected files (not cookies, it removes them as part of the panda install)






SO i think i have proven my point, if you run one antivirus on a box and think you are done you are a fucking fool. If you push a product that requires someone to pay before it does anything you are a shithead. I guess at this point, the only thing i have left to say to petgroup is:

GO GET YOUR FUCKING SHINE BOX BITCH.

Webroot finds shit right the first time, so you don't need to run 355 different anti-virus products on a computer. As long as you can boot the computer in normal mode without a 100% cpu tie-up, Webroot is all you need.

i didnt make a vid because i dont have experience editing video and i dont have anywhere to upload the multi gb video file you would want to make sure i didnt edit anything. pics are simple, and get the point across nicely. again, you really are a fucking retard.

and as for pics vs screenshots, for me its easier to just use my camera and upload to photobucket than to do the screencaptures on a virus infected machine, then transfer them to one of mine to upload somewhere. but nice try on deflecting the fact that you really are fucking retarded
