I believe the above quote is referring to the mechanics of raid encounters in the new expansion, not the randomness of loot drops on raids.

But I guess you'd have to actually raid to know that.

Well said werkkrew. For real.

I've been playing and raiding since this game launched. The fact that it has sucked up years of my (and most everyone else's) life is a testament to the quality of the product. Sure, the customer service is typically horrendous. The judgment calls SoE makes (or doesn't) on a daily basis are astounding. Itemization, raid progression, encounter issues... all problematic. However the fact remains that when compared to any other MMO out there today EQ2 will still win hands down. Maybe it's not such a great goal to be the best of the worst. But the truth remains that it's still the best. How many of those /ragequits come crawling back a year later? There's a reason for that.

Nexona, Druushk, and similar mobs may be a pain in the ass -- what sane person thinks clicking a statue or hunting for shinies is how you hoped to spend a raid night -- but what a feeling of accomplishment when you take them down. EQ2 is imperfect, but what game isn't? This, in a way, is what keeps it interesting. And challenging. I'll take that over the competition any day.

I played that game for 3 months, one month of beta and another 2 at launch. I really wanted to like that game but every class I tried was either broken or nerfed to hell soon after I tried it out. About the 5th time I drowned while taking a boat from one place to another pretty much killed it for me.

Play for 3 years then come back and tell us how "awesome" it is.

I wasn't trying to start shit or tell anyone they were wrong, I was trying to offer perspective, which apparently many of you can't grasp.

Seriously though, if you hate the game so much as to spend a good majority of your time complaining about it, then why even play.

Game = Fun

Remember that.

Most of us had that perspective about three years ago.

Some people still play because they want to try and make it fun again. Some people still play because they have friends in-game, and that outweighs the mechanics BS. Some people are just waiting for a new MMO to hit.

Or a combination of the three.
