Thoughts on lower level questing and dungeons
At the lower levels, there are tons of quests. You grey out dozens of them.
The higher you get..the less quests there are to do.
I've completely run out of quests at several times. In my mid 40's, early 50's, early 60's, and now late 60's. I have done every zone in my level range, and tried using the solo guide at eq2i, but it's just not enough. I still end up grinding.
It really annoys me to have to do that. I solo a lot, so I burn through quests quickly. Zones like Barren Sky do not even have enough quests to make one level.
I read that Kunark is a lot better with the questing. I've seen those posts where people have done 70-80 with quest exp alone. It does give me hope for the future.
That kinda brings me to another gripe, but SOE is famous for this. They improve on new content (usually), but never improve older content. For example, it feels like a complete waste to start a new character in any place that isn't Timorous Deep. The quests and loot are just leaps and bounds better that you're doing yourself a disservice by starting anywhere else. Why not beef up these lower zones? Also, doing dungeons before high-end KOS and Faydwer is garbage. All the loot is garbage, now that Mastercrafted stuff just blows it all out of the water by far. I really wish they would update all the old content. How long would that take just to improve the items, maybe add a few quests? Would that not help them draw in new players, who are having to deal with this content? I mean, the content is still FUN, but it could be so much better if it was updated.
I love the game, I just wanted to vent as a new player. I'm just now entering the RoK areas (I am level 70) and I have to say it is much better so far.
