Perhaps in our little tit for tat I either misspoke or wasn't clear enough. I don't believe "everyone should get away everything." I simply won't be the moral compass for others. There are really two points:
1.) I don't hold other people to my personal standard. If I believe something to be wrong, I don't expect others to hold that same belief.
2.) As much as I love EQ2, this is still just a video game. If the servers wiped tomorrow, I'll be ok. As a non-raider, winning a fabled item was thrilling. It in no way, shape or form compares to the feeling of my daughter's doctor telling me her disease might be in remission. That maybe she has a chance to live her teenage years without injections, pills, chronic pain and wheelchairs.
I, of course, want the game healthy for many years to come. For that reason, I reserve the term "exploit" for true things like duping. This is why I reported the one I found and didn't use it.
