If SOE opened up an "old school EQ2" server... would you play on it? - Page 4

T5 pre LU13 sucked. It was horribly broken and dumb. Like Pinski said the only thing that saved the old world was tons of content, everything else about it was lame.

Just kinda a side note to this entire post. And to the OP... I dunno if SOE ever has any plans to do anything of the sort such as a Pre-LU13 server or a progression server (Which I think would be cool) . But for those that don't know there is a eq2 emulator in the works much like the eq1 counterpart (Which I mess around with often). And people custom create their servers with different rulesets etc etc. In there some have progression locks where content needs to be cleared before the next tier is released. Others even have GM's working full time to help do live events or other things. If your interested do a google for EQemu or EQ2emu (EQ2 is still in Alpha but EQ1 works fine)

P.S. with these tools the people who create the servers have the ability to revamp pretty much anything they want as long as they have the programming savy needed

there was a cool eq1emulator that me and some friends messed around on towards the end of our eq1 time. Kinda fun being able to get all the GM buffs and spawn some PoTime gods around zones like Qeynos and freeport.

I however think an eq2 progressive server would be an interesting idea SoE should consider. Id prolly make a toon on it.

I would not, under any forseeable circumstances, play any SOE game ever again.
I'm particular about who I drink with, I'm just as particular about who I spend my money with. A company that demonstrates repeatedly that they are both grossly incompetent (ROK, DOF) and don't give a rat's ass what their customers think (official board censorship of anything non-flattering) is not worth my money.

Yeah lol there are some bugs I aint gunna lie. But sometimes some of those hobbyists do better work then the paid dev's do

Sony did a EQ1 Progression server and it was fucking brilliant to start with killing all the old mobs starting from scratch feeling uber because you had some of your class quest armour spending ages farming for your epic wth your guild etc

Eventually the main bosses got downed within a matter of months by hardcore/elite raiders (im guilty as charged 2nd rogue to get his epic on eq1 prog)everyone knew the content, 5-10% of the servers bitched about sony not unlocking the next expansion of course Sony listened to these whiners and within half a year we were pretty much on par with regular servers again expansion wise maybe 1/2 behind and the servers were completely dead apart from a few thousand because everyone else had got pissed off with sony for unlocking everything so quickly

Unless Sonys idea of a progression server changes then i would not play on one made by them again
