The "racist" thread: it already derailed into George Bush, it has jumped the shark.
Seems like anytime a thread dips that low, everything after that point is just noise. Think it'd probably not be worth it - it might also be translated as subtly supporting the OP, as, it is asking for moderation over offensive things benig said, more or less.
His comment was actually kinda funny for me...but I didn't take it as a "black culture" statement - I took it as a rap culture statement. And even then, I don't take "rap culture" as "hip hop." It's kind of like hair bands of the 80's - hair band culture! They didn't (thank god) define people of that time, though a lot of people defined themselves by Whitesnake. ;D
There's enough kids of all races running around wrapped up in rap culture that to me, it's lost the heavy edge of the stereotype, but that may just be my perception.
