Icon14 To buy EQ2 or not to....

So I'm bored waiting for AoC and did the trial. It actually seems like a lot of fun. Though it only takes 2hrs to get to lvl 10.... Maybe that was to keep people from finding out its crap?

I was always told eq2 sucked but it doesn't seem so bad. It seems a bit dumbed down though compared to games I've enjoyed before.

So how bad is SOE these days? Still stealth nurfing, ruling the official forums with secret police, and refusing to admit things are broken in game?

I really don't want to give them any of my money but it does seem somewhat fun.

EQ2 is fun as long as you bring friends with you and don't take the game too seriously.

If you don't, well.. you're realize the population from 1-60 is barren and the endgame is a frustrating cycle of broken unimaginative raid content that's more like a second job than a game.

soe is bad,

on the other hand if you like the process of leveling up a toon through loads of quests and instances you will love it.

No low lvl groups?
I had trouble on Vox finding people to play with. Then I tried Neg? And it seems highly populated but all I saw in chat was spam about groups of pvp's tricking others into fighting them. Group with high lvl's has 1 low lvl player who gets aoe?

PvP doesn't really seem worth it. People lvl lock themself at 14 and wear twink armor to go try and pick fights with all the new lvl 10's?

PvE seemed fun. Maybe its just better I wait for pvp in a different game?

I really don't care about solo play. I just enjoy grouping. There are lots of non-subscription single player games.

You can't level lock in pvp anymore and you literally fly past lvl 10 hours.

So if thats your only reason for not wanting to try pvp ur sadly misinformed.

You're going to have trouble finding groups from my experiences. Most people are in the 70-80 range, level ranges like 20-60 really suck.

Agreed. As much as I hate adding low level content a 20-40 and 40-60 timorous deep like area would rock. The gear from TD is still better than a lot of quest rewards I can get at level 40 on my new toon, it's ridiculous.

I know it would take time to get there but lvl 70 to 80 is pretty much solo in EQ2. Lower levels also have few grouping opportunities unless you make friends and join a casual style guild (server dependent).I would wait for a new game or try WoW but I'm a cynical disillusioned raider like many posters here (whether they admit it or not :p ). I don't see much point in starting a 4 year old game when there are a couple of new ones to get in on the ground floor just around the corner.@OP, what games did you play before that mde EQ2 seem dumbed down? EQ1, UO, that kind of thing?
