Not sure what people expect from MMO lore.. some expect WoT style novels written while others would prefer a button on launch "Click here to login and kill shit". There is no in between.. but Vhalen did a fine job trying to find a compromise.

Agreed, once the first few people figure out a quest, and the quest is available on eq2i, they may aswell remove all the dribble and give you the item/xp/gold you've quested for.

I wasn't talking about lore when I posted that... What I was referring to was the way in which he posted that he was leaving. I suppose he wanted to leave in a way that seemed fitting for the job he did while there, but he could have also just said:

"Well, the time for me to move on has come. It's been a great X years working in the Everquest world, and blah blah..." He didn't have to go all nuts RP in his farewell post.

That's what made us dumber.

And I do love a good book. Just doesn't seem right when people are mixing it with real life "I'm leaving" statements. That's almost on par with LARPers I'd imagine.

The lore is something most people never care for. To some, they act like the speed with which they can clear chat bubbles will register on their parser... ...and thats fine. We all pay to play, so others can't tell us what we should enjoy about the game.

With that said, if you don't like the lore, then why the fuck would you read this thread? Try this... Read it. Don't care. Move on.
