youve prob already tried this, but when this happens to me i usually just open up eq2 again and play buttom comes right up

If I were you...

1) Try rebooting your modem. For whatever reason this sometimes speeds up my downloads. Don't know if it is my ISP throttling or what, but it has worked for me.

2) Try canceling and restarting the download process a couple times without restarting the launcher.

3) Restart the launcher and try.

4) Close launcher, open a command prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns, restart launcher

5) if it is still downloading slow and sticking on that .pak, cancel the download, locate the file if you can and delete it, then restart the launcher

Permissions was a similar problem when I started running EQ2 on Vista. Try running the program as an administrator, and it may work. Mine wouldn't download past a certain point until I did that. After that, it's worked fine ever since.

I hope you find your answer, whatever it may be. Vista annoys me...and certainly many others, I imagine.
