It is definitely not the ISP because I can still use vent even during the massive lag spikes. It is not exactly a server problem either. It has to do with certain clients not talking to the server in the right way. I have a client patched for the test server and when LU43 was in testing I got lag. I could then log into to my Live client which was still patched to LU42 and it had no lag. So this is exact same computer, exact same video card, exact same ISP, using two differently patched clients on the exact same day. One had fucking lag and the other did not. The only thing different is SoE's screwball code. This was in late February and I /bug it but SoE did nothing to stop the lag from going live.

That is the type of indifference on SoE's part that led me to cancel my account and their continued lack effort to do anything about this is why I keep it canceled.

yeh I was pretty much sarcastic, but it's really sad. We fought Valor yesterday with 10 second lag at times (suddenly half of raid saying on vent that their client probably crashed and 10 seconds later everything 'unfreezes') and there was over 100 people in zone with loads of noobs zoning in and out etc. Clearly makes a lot of lag.
I bet 'new' hotbars has something to do with lag, because sometimes I feel like servers is trying to decided which hotbar should be tint and which shouldnt, but maybe it is just me.

You know this could have all been prevented if the dev team did what I suggested the day after GU 43 was released and rolled the servers back to GU 42 until they pinpointed the problem.

Now what you have is a huge clusterfuck. The problem resides in GU 43, but since we've had so many updates since then, even if they found the problem, they'd now have to deal with dependencies of later released code which rely on the bugged code, creating a bunch of work.

Maybe at some point they will advise poeple to buy 3 year old pc's on ebay, becuase back then there where less complaints about lag, oh wait, that was becuase people where still believing in the will take advantage of future tech bs.

Soe should just scrap the engine and completly redo it, or even better just buy one that works.
